What this track covers
This track covers the full arc of diabetes care: distinguishing types and confirming diagnosis, choosing and sequencing oral and injectable therapies, building and adjusting insulin regimens, and using CGM data to guide adjustments. It also addresses complication screening and adjustments needed for pregnancy, older adults, hospitalized patients, and perioperative care.
What you will practice
- Differentiate type 1, type 2, and atypical diabetes presentations using history and labs
- Sequence oral and injectable agents based on comorbidities and patient factors
- Build a basal-bolus insulin regimen and adjust it from glucose patterns
- Interpret an ambulatory glucose profile and time-in-range data to guide therapy changes
- Recognize and stage retinopathy, nephropathy, neuropathy, and cardiovascular risk for screening decisions
