What this track covers
This track covers the full airway management pathway: predicting a difficult airway, performing direct and video laryngoscopy, placing supraglottic devices, and following a structured difficult airway algorithm through to surgical rescue. It's built for clinicians who manage airways in the emergency department, ICU, or periprocedural setting and want to sharpen both technique and decision-making under pressure.
What you will practice
- Perform a systematic difficult airway assessment before touching a laryngoscope
- Choose blade type and positioning for direct vs. video laryngoscopy
- Select and size a supraglottic airway for a given clinical picture
- Walk through a structured difficult airway algorithm from first attempt to rescue

Simulator scenario
A patient with limited mouth opening and a short thyromental distance requires urgent intubation, forcing a decision point when the first laryngoscopy attempt fails.
