ACLS Rhythm and Algorithm Practice

You'll be able to recognize arrest rhythms quickly and run the correct ACLS algorithm end to end without hesitating on the next step.

What this track covers

This track covers the core adult cardiac arrest and peri-arrest algorithms, including shockable and non-shockable rhythm pathways, timing of interventions during a resuscitation, and the reversible causes to check when a patient isn't responding as expected. It's built for clinicians who already know the basics and want to sharpen speed and decision-making under pressure.

What you will practice

  • Distinguishing shockable from non-shockable rhythms on a strip
  • Sequencing defibrillation, compressions, and drug timing correctly
  • Working through the H's and T's when a code stalls
  • Recognizing signs of ROSC and next steps in patient management
  • Communicating clearly and assigning roles as team lead during a code

Simulator scenario

A simulated in-hospital cardiac arrest that shifts between shockable and non-shockable rhythms as the case progresses, testing whether the clinician adjusts the algorithm and team communication in real time.

Board question topics

  • Rhythm identification on ECG strips
  • Sequencing of algorithm steps
  • Reversible causes of cardiac arrest
  • Post-arrest care priorities
