What this track covers
This track covers the core skills of cardiac ultrasound: understanding the physics behind image formation, obtaining and recognizing standard TTE views, and performing systematic quantification of chamber size and function. It also addresses recognizing and grading common valvular and myocardial disease patterns seen on TTE and TEE.
What you will practice
- Optimize gain, depth, and frequency settings for a given image
- Identify standard parasternal, apical, and subcostal windows
- Walk through a stepwise approach to measuring chamber and wall dimensions
- Differentiate normal variants from pathologic valve findings
