What this track covers
This track covers the full arc of ECG interpretation: waveform anatomy and a systematic reading approach, rhythm and conduction abnormalities, axis determination, chamber enlargement and hypertrophy patterns, and ischemia and infarction recognition. It's built for clinicians who read ECGs in real time and need to correlate findings with the patient's presentation.
What you will practice
- Apply a consistent, repeatable sequence for reading any 12-lead ECG
- Distinguish sinus, atrial, and ventricular rhythm disturbances
- Estimate cardiac axis and identify causes of deviation
- Recognize ST-segment and T-wave patterns suggesting acute ischemia and localize the likely culprit vessel
- Identify signs of atrial enlargement, ventricular hypertrophy, and bundle branch block
Simulator scenario
A patient presents with acute chest pain and an ECG showing evolving ST changes, requiring the clinician to interpret the tracing, localize the affected territory, and decide on next steps.
