Anesthesia and Perioperative Care
You'll be able to plan and manage anesthetic care across airway, sedation, and perioperative decision points with more confidence.
What this track covers
This track covers core anesthesia practice: pharmacology of anesthetic agents, intraoperative monitoring, airway management including difficult airway algorithms, and perioperative patient management. It's built for clinicians who manage or assist with sedation, intubation, and periop care in any practice setting.
What you will practice
- Selecting and dosing anesthetic agents based on patient factors
- Interpreting intraoperative monitoring data and responding to changes
- Working through a difficult airway algorithm step by step
- Choosing between intubation and supraglottic airway placement
- Managing common perioperative complications and handoffs
Simulator scenario
A patient with a predicted difficult airway is being prepared for surgery, and the clinician must plan and execute an airway management strategy in real time as the case evolves.
Board question topics
- Airway assessment and difficult airway prediction
- Pharmacology of induction and maintenance agents
- Intraoperative monitoring interpretation
- Perioperative complication management
