This track covers the core principles anesthesia providers rely on daily: how anesthetic agents work, what monitors are telling you, and how to sequence decisions across the pre-, intra-, and postoperative periods. It's built for clinicians who want to sharpen clinical reasoning rather than memorize a checklist.
What you will practice
- Compare mechanisms and clinical effects of common inhaled and IV anesthetic agents
- Interpret monitoring trends (capnography, pulse oximetry, hemodynamics) and recognize when they signal a problem
- Sequence a preoperative risk assessment and translate it into an anesthetic plan
- Anticipate and respond to common intraoperative complications
- Structure a handoff and postoperative plan that accounts for emergence and recovery risks

A simulated case where a patient's hemodynamics and capnography shift mid-procedure, requiring the clinician to identify the cause and adjust the anesthetic plan in real time.
