PDO Thread Lifting Fundamentals
Clinicians will be able to select appropriate thread types and plan insertion vectors for non-surgical facial lifting.
What this track covers
This track covers the mechanics of non-surgical thread lifting, including thread composition and properties, relevant facial anatomy, and vector planning for predictable lift. It is intended for clinicians building or refreshing a working knowledge of thread-based rejuvenation before applying it in practice.
What you will practice
- Differentiate thread types by material, structure, and expected longevity
- Match thread selection to treatment goal and facial region
- Identify safe insertion planes relative to SMAS and fat pad anatomy
- Plan lift vectors based on desired tissue movement
- Recognize anatomic danger zones and vessels to avoid during insertion
Simulator scenario
A patient presents with early jowling and mid-face descent, and the clinician must assess anatomy, select thread type, and plan insertion vectors before proceeding.
Board question topics
- Thread material properties and resorption timelines
- Facial anatomic layers and insertion plane safety
- Vector selection for common lift patterns
- Recognition and management of insertion complications
