Calcium Hydroxyapatite Bio-Stimulation Track
Clinicians will be able to plan and reason through calcium hydroxyapatite treatments, from mechanism of action to dilution rationale and contouring strategy.
What this track covers
This track covers calcium hydroxyapatite as a volumizing and bio-stimulatory filler, including its dual mode of action, relevant facial anatomy and fat compartments, and how dilution choices affect viscosity, spread, and intended clinical use. It is intended for licensed injectors building or refreshing their understanding of this filler class.
What you will practice
- Explaining the dual mechanism of immediate volumizing effect and delayed collagen/elastin stimulation
- Identifying facial fat compartments and safe injection planes on 3D anatomy
- Reasoning through how dilution affects product viscosity, flow, and clinical indication
- Selecting injection technique (fanning, linear threading, bolus) based on treatment area
- Recognizing anatomic zones with elevated vascular risk and appropriate precautions
Simulator scenario
A virtual patient presents for jawline and cheek contouring, and the clinician must assess fat compartments, choose an injection plane and technique, and talk through the expected timeline of visible versus bio-stimulatory results.
Board question topics
- Mechanism of action of calcium hydroxyapatite
- Facial anatomy and fat compartment identification
- Dilution effects on product behavior
- Vascular risk zones and complication recognition
